Protect What Matters
-
Scratch Resistant
Como Quartz ranks between 5 and 7 on the Mohs scale of hardness, offering strong resistance to scratches. However, to preserve the surface, always use a cutting board during food prep and avoid direct contact with sharp objects like knives or drill bits.
Do not strike the surface with heavy or sharp items, as impact may cause damage.
-
Heat Resistant
Como Quartz countertops are heat-resistant but not heatproof. Prolonged or sudden exposure to high temperatures can cause damage, including edge cracks or discoloration.
To protect your surface, always use heat pads or trivets under hot cookware and appliances. Never place items directly from the stove or oven onto the countertop, and avoid exposing the surface to open flames. Heat protection is essential to maintain the appearance of your quartz.
-
Stains Resistant
Como Quartz surfaces are non-porous and coated with a protective layer that resists liquid absorption from common spills like juice, sauces, and coffee. If a spill occurs, wipe it off promptly using a non-abrasive cloth.
For ink stains, start by wiping with a damp cloth and gently using a magic eraser. If the stain remains, mix a powder cleanser in a 2:1 ratio (cleanser to water), apply it to the stain, let it sit for 5 minutes, then scrub gently with a soft brush. Rinse thoroughly with water afterward.
Avoid exposing the surface to strong chemicals or solvents. Products containing strong chemical can permanently damage the protective coating.

Maintenance & points of attention
Como Quartz offers exceptional durability with minimal maintenance required. While annual upkeep is generally unnecessary, promptly wipe away any spills to protect the surface.
For daily cleaning, use warm water and a mild soap with a non-abrasive cloth. If using detergent, dilute it in a 1:5 ratio with warm water.
Avoid harsh or corrosive cleaners such as bleach, strong alkalis, or solvents like xylene and toluene, as these may damage the surface.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may reduce surface gloss over time.
Do not attempt to remove or reinstall countertops without professional assistance, as this may cause cracks or damage.
